ones who passed the stamp act in March 1765. They were the people
who taxed all of the American citizens. |

it was a law that forced peole to pay a special tax on certain
things that were then stamped to show that the people had paid
their tax. |
| When | The stamp act was passed after the French and Indian war in March of 1765, because the British thought Americans should repay their dept. |
| Where | The stamp act was to all of the 13 colonies, but the Massachusetts assembly recommended they have a meeting to solve the problem of the stamp act. |
| Why | The British Taxed the Americasn
because after the French and Indian war they though the Americans
should pay up their dept to them, but the Americans thought that,
the war was not fought to protect them, but to protect the British
trade so they thought that it was their problem not theirs. |
| How | The stamp act started because the British thought that the Americans needed to pay their dept. when they taxed them the colonist didnt like this and then started to have riots in the streets, they even threatened agents of the British government. So then the colonist got together as the stamp act congress and wrote a letter to the king. But the British repealed the stamp act any way. The colonist then started to boycott all British imports. |
| On March 22,1765 the stamp
act was past by the British parliament. The tax was to every
American and required them to pay tax on every printed paper.
The taxing money was to help pay for the protection of the American
frontier. The stamp act is an act of compromise and applying certain stamp duties and other duties, in the British colonies and platations in America, towards additional defraying the operation cost of protecting, and securing the similar, and fro amending such parts of the numerous acts of parliament linking to the trade and revenues of the said colonies and platations. Through the approach of determining and improving the penalties and forgeitures within mentioned. The taxing price was actually small, but what the law made so ubpleasant fro the colonists was the standard it seemed to put. |
